Haycock is a broad, stony top on the long ridge between Ennerdale and Wasdale, with the old Ennerdale Fence wall running right across it. The highest point is a large cairn on rock just south of the wall, though Wainwright reckoned a shelter on the north side was a touch higher. It's remote and quiet, looking down on Ennerdale Water, and a cairn a little to the south brings Wast Water into view.
