Troutbeck Tongue is a long grassy spur pushing south from the Ill Bell ridge, between Trout Beck and Hagg Gill. The highest point is a grassy knoll just north of the cairn usually taken as the summit. Higher fells crowd the view, but you can see down the valley to Windermere, and ancient cairns lie on the col towards Froswick.
