Carn an Tuirc, the 'hill of the wild boar', rises just north of the Glenshee Ski Centre, above the old military road through Glen Clunie. Its broad crest is a surprisingly bouldery dome, and the true top has no marker at all: a cairn about 35 metres away is half a metre lower. Beyond it lies a big sweep of moorland stretching towards Glen Doll and Lochnagar.
