Tolmount rises from the wide Mounth plateau above the head of Loch Callater, and from that loch it looks like a neat cone. Up close it's a rounded, grassy dome with a cairn on top, very like its neighbour Tom Buidhe. The summit looks down on the crags of Glen Callater, and Jock's Road from Glen Doll passes nearby. The name is thought to mean 'valley hill'.
