Brock Crags is a knobbly patch of high ground above Hartsop, roughly circular and dotted with rocky knolls and a small tarn. Wainwright's summit has a large cairn, but the true high point is an unnamed knoll a little to the east, which he passed over. Angle Tarn sits just across the dip to the north, and the main Patterdale to High Street path runs below the top.
