Halfway along the narrow ridge between Far Easedale and Greenburn, Gibson Knott has two rocky knolls of similar height. The cairned outcrop is the traditional top, while a second cairn 200 metres to the south-east is a touch higher. Horn Crag guards the Far Easedale side, and the ground is gentler on the north, dropping towards Greenburn Bottom.
