Grike is the westernmost fell above Ennerdale Water, a grassy dome with conifers planted on its southern flank. Locally it's also called Stone Man, after the big cairn on its top, and today a large windshelter marks the highest point with a lower cairn just to the west. Iron was mined below the northern slopes from 1860 to 1896 without ever making money, and to the west the view opens out to the coast.
