The knobbly top of Causey Pike is easy to pick out from Keswick and Derwentwater, with four lesser bumps strung along the ridge to the west. A short rocky scramble leads onto the summit, a small cairn on rock with views over Derwentwater, the Newlands valley, Skiddaw and Blencathra. The scree around the top has turned up fossil trilobites, and an old track on the slopes once served a cobalt mine on Scar Crags.
