High Pike sits on the long ridge climbing north from Ambleside to Dove Crag, and it's usually done as part of the Fairfield Horseshoe. A big dry-stone wall follows the ridge, and the summit is a small cairn on a rock outcrop beside it. From near High Sweden Bridge it looks like a separate peak with cliffs on its east side, but it's really just a rise on the ridge. The view looks down over Ambleside to the head of Windermere.
