Nab Scar drops in a steep, wooded scar to Rydal Water, at the southern end of a grassy ridge below Heron Pike. Nab Cottage on the lake shore below was once home to several of the Lake Poets. A large cairn just beyond a wall marks the top, with Dockey Tarn, a small rocky pool, close by to the west, and the view west towards the Central Fells is wide.
